When you create a new site in Uniweb, you choose a primary language and any secondary languages you want to work with. Don’t stress too much about this upfront—you can add or remove languages later, or even change which language is primary.

1. Per-Element Translation
By default, each section of your page has a per-element translation interface that shows:

Translation language content on the right
Each heading, paragraph, list item, or caption aligns perfectly, making it a breeze to keep track of what needs translating. With a click, you can machine-translate any element, then tweak if necessary. Uniweb also tracks which parts were machine-translated versus manually edited, so you’ll always know where you might want to focus improvements later.
2. Free-Form Translation
Sometimes you want content in another language to be very different—maybe the structure changes, or the images need to be localized. In that case, switch the section to free-form mode, and you can craft a fully unique version in each language. This gives you absolute flexibility where it’s needed most.
Publishing & Auto-Translation
When you publish, you choose which of your draft languages to include in the live site. For sections in per-element mode, you’ll see an option to enable auto-translation:
If auto-translation is enabled, Uniweb detects any missing translations in your draft and automatically translates them before publishing. Perfect for ensuring nothing goes live incomplete.
If auto-translation is disabled, any missing translations will simply default to the primary language instead of being blank.
This system means you’re in complete control: either let Uniweb fill in gaps automatically, or handle them on your own.
